Prof. Dr. Alexander Jesser studied computer engineering with a focus on electrical engineering at the University of Paderborn. He then worked for several years at the Fraunhofer Institute IIS in Erlangen in the field of satellite navigation systems and medical technology. After completing his doctorate in the field of formal verification, he held several management positions in industry before moving to Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences in 2013. Since 2019, he has been Dean of Studies for the Bachelor’s degree programs “Electrical Engineering” and “Automation Technology and Electrical Engineering” and the Master’s degree program “Electrical Engineering”. At the beginning of 2021, he founded the Institute for Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems ICPS at Heilbronn University. The institute conducts applied research in the fields of “Digital Transformation”, “IIoT – Industrial Internet”, “Robotics”, “Artificial Intelligence” and “Image Processing” in an industrial environment.

Markus Begerow

Data & AI Expert - roosi GmbH

Markus Begerow is a Data & AI expert at roosi GmbH. He studied business informatics with a focus on relational databases and data warehousing at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau.

Due to his previous career as a cloud solution architect and regional manager, he has many years of experience in the design, implementation and operation of business intelligence and analytics systems. Over the last 10 years, his customers have included well-known companies.

Markus Begerow is a visiting scientist at the Institute for Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems (ICPS), founder and head of the Dainalytix research group and lecturer at universities.

Mandy Goram

Research assistant and doctoral candidate - Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)

Mandy Goram (M.Sc.) is a research assistant and doctoral candidate in the Critical Information Infrastructures (cii) research group at the Institute for Applied Informatics and Formal Description Methods (AIFB) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Previously, she worked at the Chair of Cooperative Systems at the FernUniversität in Hagen. Her research interests include the design and development of user-centric, legally compliant AI platforms and intelligent personalized assistance systems.

Before starting her career in research, the computer scientist worked for several years as an IT consultant in the private sector. She worked on various projects as a data warehouse, business intelligence and software developer, including in the banking and insurance sector and at a large German market research company. She then moved to an internal position at a medical-pharmaceutical company, where she took over the management of the Business Intelligence department, which she further developed and completely realigned.

Bastian Höcker

Senior Data Engineer - Glovo

Bastian Höcker studied industrial engineering in his bachelor’s degree and then later as a Master of Data Science. He gained several years of process and data analysis experience in oil production and real estate management before taking on the role of Head of BI in 2018, building up the analytics division of a start-up. He currently works as a team lead and data engineer in Azure Cloud Analytics and IoT.
